The session of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church voted unanimously July 25 to accept the invitation of Westover Hills to combine the two congregations in a step toward securing the continued witness of these historic churches in Little Rock.
Over the coming months, the session and congregation will begin preparing the church building on Woodlawn in the HIllcrest neighborhood for sale as they continue with the many formal and customary steps toward union with WHPC.
Under Presbyterian polity, when the institution of the church moves to merge with another congregation, each member makes their own personal decision about the future. WHPC is eager to welcome the members and friends of PHPC into the fellowship of Westover HIlls.
The choice to take this bold step is evidence of the prayerful and careful way the session at Pulaski Heights has worked to meet their current challenges. Please keep the PHPC community in your prayers as they bring to conclusion one chapter and prepare for a new one in the life of this storied congregation.
