How does a weary world rejoice?
That is the question our Advent them asks this year. We live in a world that is weary down to its bones. With so many things around us clamoring for our attention, so many voices competing for our allegiance, and the pressure to “put on a happy face” and be “festive” for the season, it can be easy to forget that Christ came into a weary world to bring the light of hope.
This Advent season, rather than trying to hide our world-weariness, let’s put it all out there. When we have the courage to do that, to put our weariness out in the world without worrying if we are “cheery” or “Christmas-like” enough, a miraculous thing happens. We get a glimpse of hope. Our eyes are opened to the very real miracle of the birth of Christ which is light shining in an increasingly dark and weary world.
Join us Sundays in December as we ask, “How does a weary world rejoice?”
